Data deletion

Last updated 18 September 2026

Meta requires every app on its platform to publish a clear route to deleting data. This is ours. There are three situations, and they have different answers.

You want to delete your LeadWave account

  1. Open Settings in the dashboard.
  2. Disconnect each connected Page. Its access token is deleted immediately.
  3. Delete the workspace.

Everything belonging to that workspace — contacts, conversations, messages, leads, automations, AI knowledge, bio pages and analytics — is removed within 30 days. Backups are rotated on the same schedule, so a copy does not survive in cold storage beyond that.

You want to disconnect one Page but keep the account

Disconnect it in Settings. The Page's access token is deleted immediately and the data attached to that Page is removed within 30 days. Nothing belonging to your other Pages is affected — in LeadWave, contacts, automations and AI knowledge are scoped per Page and never shared between two.

You messaged a Page that uses LeadWave

If you sent a message to a business's Facebook Page and want the record of it removed, the business controls that data, not us. There are two routes:

  • Ask the business directly. They can delete your contact record, which removes your conversation, your messages and anything captured from you.
  • Remove the app's access on Facebook. In your Facebook settings, under Apps and Websites, removing the app sends us a deletion signal which we honour.

You can also ask a business to stop messaging you at all. LeadWave records that as an opt-out on your contact, which excludes you from every automation, every AI reply and every export from that point on.

Deletion callback

LeadWave implements Meta's data deletion callback. When Facebook tells us a person has removed the app, we delete the records associated with that person's Page-scoped id and confirm it back to Facebook with a tracking reference, as the platform terms require.

What we keep, and why

After a deletion we retain only what we are legally required to: billing records for tax purposes, and a minimal audit entry recording that a deletion happened and when. Neither contains message content, contact details or captured leads.
